WHO WE ARE

We are students and faculty interested in new ways to design. We are working on low resource designs and designs that promote reducing GHG emissions. If you have a project that you think we’d be interested in, please contact Prof. Deb Niemeier (dniemeier@ucdavis.edu).

OUR PHILOSOPHY

The Sustainable Design Academy carries forward the very best traditional engineering methods of analysis and design, but innovates by teaching students how find shared values, to both communicate with and listen to citizens, and to actively design projects from a civic perspective.

CURRENT PROJECT

Students are currently testing a new bicycle pavement accelerometer that allows pavement conditions to be assessed. Students also developing sensors for small poultry farmers.
