Chen received her M.S. in Material Science & Engineering department from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. Her project in Center for Resource Reuse and Recycling (CR3), which became her master’s thesis, was development of aluminum dross-based material for engineering applications. Currently, she is pursuing her Ph.D. in Prof. Lavernia’s group working on Oxide Dispersion Strengthened (ODS) Stainless Steels. Before she came to United States, she got the B.S. in Material Physics department at University of Science and Technology in Beijing.
