Prof. Subhash Mahajan

Prof. Mahajan holds the position of Distinguished Professor in the Materials Science department and Special Advisor to the Chancellor at UC Davis. His research focuses on both structure-property relationships in functional materials and deformation behavior in solids. He is a member of the National Academy of Engineering, a Foreign Fellow of the Indian National Academy of Engineering and has received numerous awards for his contributions to education. Prof. Mahajan is the Coordinating Editor of Acta Materialia and has published 230 peer-reviewed papers.

Veronica Stanton

Veronica is an Administrative Assistant in the department.  Originally from England she has a Master’s degree in Social Policy.  Outside of work she enjoys tennis, walking, reading, and entertaining

Andrew Lange

Andrew is a third year PhD candidate. He is studying the growth mechanisms of III-nitrides on silicon substrates. He received an M.S. in materials science from Stanford and a B.S. in physics from UC Santa Cruz. Outside of the lab he enjoys hanging out with family, fishing, swimming and training in Hapkido.

Steven Zhang

Steven is a senior undergraduate student majoring in both electrical engineering and materials science. He plans to attend graduate school starting Fall 2015 and would like to continue studying wide bandgap semiconductors.

Jeffrey Johannsen

Jeff

Jeff Johansen is majoring in applied physics. He has 6 years of experience working in the thin-film industry as a design and process engineer. Outside of school and work he enjoys backpacking, climbing, diving, and of course playing with his cats.

Raymond Chen

Raymond is a senior undergrad in materials science. He has worked as an intern at Nvidia and is interested in learning as much as possible about semiconductor fabrication (from device growth to packaging). Raymond hopes to find a job in the semiconductor industry after graduating this spring.
